Does any1 have any remedies for male hair loss? besides wigs, sprays, shampoos, surgery. ex i heard folic acid

Deal with it... Hair loss is natural... You could just shave it off and wax your head, then you would have nothing to worry about it.Does any1 have any remedies for male hair loss? besides wigs, sprays, shampoos, surgery. ex i heard folic acid
There's only two male hair loss drugs clinically tested and FDA approved : Minoxidil (Rogaine and other brands) and Finasteride (Proscar, Propecia, etc.), there are some interesting drugs too like Dutasteride or Follica but there aren't enough studies yet.

If you're into natural stuff, the only one that might be helpful is Saw Palmeto (there are capsules for sale in natural shops) because it contains anti androgens similar to the ones found on Propecia.

Minoxidil if you buy generic brands it's quite cheap and Proscar if you get the generic version it's reasonably cheap and will last you a long time.

Quite frankly all the other stuff are either placebos or scams.

Have not given Answers' member name as have not as yet sought permission to give it.

You can see a very detailed answer on how to stop loss, etc. that I gave to a question posted on 2008.5.2 by John W. I'm sorry John W. didn't like it.

Q. ';What are some natural hair loss remedies? im going to a natural medicine store and they have all kinds of herbs and things like that ';

L'oreal aminnexil works fine,

And it clinically tested and safe,(you just massage scalp first, and then massage it in.)

I got over 1250 hairs back, That i had not seen for several years, From first course, 4 months ago first use.

And it is reasonably priced. ( About $90 USD) twice a year.

No risk of Penile dysfunction as with Propecia.!
I have a friend who went to Bosley. His hair was falling out and in 4 months he had great results! His hair is back to normal now. Its not a good feeling to lose your hair, so check out all possible options.

Check out this link. You can request a free dvd to learn more about them.

You can try the following essential oils for massage to reduce hair loss. Grapefruit, Jojoba oil, Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
I do not know if things claiming to cause hair growth work. But a good hair cut that suits you can really make a difference. Say no to comb overs.

Shampoo etc for hair loss/thinning?

I was wondering if anyone could recommend an inexpensive but good shampoo or supplement (oil/etc) for thinning/falling hair. I'm into the natural stuff, so keep it real. Shampoo etc for hair loss/thinning?
My mother and brother use Biotin. You have to take it everyday and ofcourse over an extended period before you see results, but my mother has seen great results. My brother just started on it about a week ago so I can't report on his progress just yet :-)

There are anti hair loss shampoo in the market that you can try. Things to look out for in the anti hair loss shampoo:

1. Surfactants - This should be avoided for those having more-than-normal hair loss.

2. Saw Palmetto - Shampoo with Saw Palmetto ingredient is worth a try.

3. Essential oils - can be used to stimlute healthy hair and decrease hair loss rate

Which shampoo best for hair loss?

hey guys, i'm 16 and i'm losing like 5 strands of hair a day. iunno wat to do? ma dad isn't bald and he's like 49. mom's side the , no problem either. i went to doc, she said ...it's natural during that age? i'm worried. don't want to be bald by 25. what should i do? which type of shampoo should i use? i use pert 2 in 1 conditioner n shampooWhich shampoo best for hair loss?
The average person looses WAY more than 5 strands a day lmao.

BUT if you're really that worried about it, try Nioxion. It's only sold at salons.

And pert.....is not a good shamp. and cond. So get rid of it.Which shampoo best for hair loss?
Mane 'N Tail promotes hair growth. You will have to use the conditioner too.
Well, I can't really suggest a shampoo because I don't know the type of hair you have xD.
My dad uses Pert and he has a receding hairline. ALSO, we all lose a lot more than 5 strands a day!! More like a 100! It's natural to lose hair every day. BTW, I used Nioxin for like a week, because I have fine hair and I wanted to thicken it, and I wound up with really itchy dandruff!! I just wanted to scratch all the skin from my scalp, it itched so bad. But everyone is different.................
Make sure you get a shampoo that has no sulfate which is found in a lot of shampoo's. sulfate is what drys out your hair and makes it weaker. just look on the back on the bottle.
Massage aloe Vera gel over the scalp, leave it for about one hour. After this rinse the hair with warm water. It gives excellent results for hair loss if one uses this massage at least 3-4 times a week. Check out

What is a good shampoo or hair treatment that reduces hair loss. I have tried so many things but nothing works

Don't worry about hair loss, just tell everyone it was worn off by the head board of the bed.

God only created so many ';perfect'; heads, the rest he covered with hair. What is a good shampoo or hair treatment that reduces hair loss. I have tried so many things but nothing works
    Hi there,

I have yet to hear of a shampoo that's proven to prevent you from losing your hair. However, there's always Rogaine (or Minoxidil) that can be applied daily to prevent future hair loss and in some cases regrow lost hair.

I tried Rogaine years ago and didn't like it very much, mostly because I couldn't get dedicated to applying it everyday and made my head itch and peel like the Dickens. After years of suffering from male Pattern baldness I decided to go with a Bosley hair restoration procedure. Since receiving the hair transplant back in July I've blogged my results on BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition to real hair restoration results the blog provides a wealth of information on hair loss and the methods for correcting it.

    Best of Luck,

    Egg Shampoo recipe

    2 cups water

    2 bars castile soap, grated

    1 ounce tincture of benzoin

    3 egg yolks

    2 ounces glycerin

    3 drops perfume
Try Nioxin...it is a great line.
Nioxin products are great, but if you've tried them and they didn't work for you, I'd suggest having an electrotherapy session at your nearest day spa. The High Frequency machine normally used in deep-treatment facials may help your scalp. Have your technician turn the frequency up to where it is uncomfortable but not so high as you absolutely can't stand it. The technician then ';bounces'; the argon-filled glass electrode over your scalp in a uniform pattern to clear any bacteria from just under the skin's surface. This may facilitate easier growth from your existing hair. My brother absolutely swears by this! Make sure you don't wear ANY metal jewelry and have no metal implants in your body (fillings in your teeth are okay, but will make an unpleasant taste in your mouth). Good luck!
Look for a shampoo that contains oil or nettle. Or you can try nettle tea .....not drinking it....just wet your hair with it an d wait 20 min and then wash it off.
Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 x day. Heinz vinegar has 93 vitamins and minerals so hair will grow long, strong and thick.
I heard using horse shampoo helps grow hair or it either helps hair grow faster.
WOmen's Rogaine and special hair growth, breakage protection, and hair health shampoo, conditioner and treatment available in the black haircare section of a drug store. they really work, i use them!
no shampoo or hair product can actually reduce hair loss. try increasing your protein and iron intake. protein encourages hair folicles to grow. chicken, potatoes, beans, etc.

I lost so much weight after having my gastric by pass, after 9 months of weight loss I began to loose my hair by the handfuls! I have tried Nixon did not work. I tried Rogaine did not work. But I went to see my surgeon who did my gastric by pass and he put me on a vitiam very cheap at any local drug store it is called ';Zinc Sulfate'; 250mg. At first you take 1 capsule 3 times a day for the first 2 months then 1 capsule 2 times a day for a month then 1 capsule every day. You will find it will grow back and you will stop loosing your hair. The question I have to ask is ';You getting enough protein in your daily diet?'; But as you know that Zinc helps the ammune system but you have to get the SULFATE for a faster and better absorbtion in your body for your hair. I had real thick hair and lost it to the point where you could totally see my scalp in between the hair. Took 4 months but it started coming back and I have all my hair back it is not course like it use to be. It is nice thick fine hair and I love it! Oh yeah the cost I go to Shopko and get them from the pharmist 100 capsules for $3.65 a bottle. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

    Shampoo/products..causing hair loss?

My hair has been fallling out, to the excess, since March 1---What shampoos or products are causing this? What hair products have you had bad experiences? Or heard of bad experiences?Shampoo/products..causing hair loss?
Alot of times it's stress or lack of proper nutrition that makes a person's hair fall out. If I were you I would consult your doctor because I hate to say it but I don't believe that shampoo is making your hair fall out. The shampoo companies could not make products that do that. I had a friend who was going through the same thing and she was only 16 but she saw her doctor and now she's fine. Good luck!Shampoo/products..causing hair loss?
Might not be the products. Could be alopecia. I would go to a trichologist or see your GP who can recommend one for a definite diagosis.
Its not the products, it you.

Don't worry too much, because that might make you lose some hairs!

    I'm just kidding.

But really just go to a doctor.

Is disodium laureth sulfosuccinate in shampoo okay to use if im worried about hair loss?

because most shampoo's that say they are SULFATE-FREE have this disodium laureth sulfosuccinate in them. i know Sodium LAURYL sulfate is very bad for the hair and so is ammonium laurel sulfate so is disodium laureth sulfosuccinate in shampoo okay or is it just as bad as the others??Is disodium laureth sulfosuccinate in shampoo okay to use if im worried about hair loss?
Any shampoo or beauty product that is marketed has to be tested to show that it's safe to use. Shampoo should not cause hair loss. If your still worried just keep on with your regular shampoo. Good luck

Just to share : Been on minoxidil for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.

My hair only started visibly growing after doubtfully trying out the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info

I would highly recommend this easy to follow step-by-step guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now.

Anyway, its also a cheaper and effective way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have side effects.
Sunsilk has a good shampoo and conditioner it's called anti caida which means in english not to fall out or something. You can buy it any drugstore or walmart, It varies by location but shouldn't be too hard to find. It's not harsh on your hair, the smell is light and it actually smells good but not too strong of a smell. The main ingredient in it is Cactus. My mom used it and it really made her hair more stronger and moisturized. I will put the link in so you can take a look and see if you might like it.

Oh and also a benifit to using Sunsilk is that it has a leave in treatment that you can put in your hair after you shampoo and condition. There's also a store locater so you can find out where to buy it at. Hope this helps!

I've got the perfect solution for you. It's an amazing organic oil that has been popular in Israel and Morocco for years and is now just starting to get recognition for all it's amazing properties. It is called Argan oil. This oil contains all the necessary vitamins and natural element to nurture, moisturize, and heal not only your skin, but hairs and nails as well. It absorbs into the skin very fast as well; faster than most creams and lotions. It has been used by the Berber women of Morocco for centuries for use in skin, hair, nail, and therapeutic treatments. It is the all around most beneficial organic on the planet. I grew up in France and have been using it for years. It is used by models over there, and is practicially found in every spa and salon. For some reason it only grows in Morocco making it very exotic. I found a website that had the most information on all its different uses. Their Argan oil is certified and deodorized(the natural smell of argan oil can be overbearing).

I contacted them and they said they start selling in two weeks, but you can register at their website for a discount now.

Use shampoos with keratin or amino acids, it is a protein substance that hair is made of. It鈥檚 main function is to help seal breakages in the follicles.
eat lots of tomatoes as it is having vit c ,and have yellow coloured foodies.
try mixture of curd and egg

I use Herbal Essence Breaks Over shampoo and Ive noticed a lot of hair loss. Is this happening to anyone else?

i had the same thing happen when i used herbal essence (and so did a couple of my friends). one of my friends said it was due to the harsh herbal extracts--just because they're ';natural'; doesn't mean their good for your hair. (same with garnier fructese (spelling???)).

it's disappointing though, because that shampoo smells so good.I use Herbal Essence Breaks Over shampoo and Ive noticed a lot of hair loss. Is this happening to anyone else?
It could just be the time of year-I know certain times of the year I ';shed'; or if my hair hasn't been cut in a while and it needs it.

But some shampoos have an ingredient in there that actually causes hair loss-I don't know it off hand but my mom told me about it!I use Herbal Essence Breaks Over shampoo and Ive noticed a lot of hair loss. Is this happening to anyone else?
Linz, your problem may be corrected by proper intake of vitamins and minerals. Hope over to this site on how it is done:

Hmm, this is a hard one, losing hair can be caused by all types of things. Some Shampoos can help, depends on the condition of your hair.

A lot of time it is due to a lack of something in the body, protein, nutrients etc. Also it can be caused by stres and lifestyle. How is your daily diet and lifestyle?

There are many products out there to help along with the correct shampoo and conditioners, the correct diet and correct lifestyle.

Have a look at a web site I found www.bring-my-hair-back.com which may be of good help to you.

Good Luck, I hope it is a simple answer, I truely believe supplementing your diet to ensure you are fixing the problem from inside out is the key. Every part of your body stems from the inner cells

Will hair loss due to Shampoo reaction grow back?

Hi there, I'm 19 years old with a thick full head of hair (as every hair dresser tells me). I was told that the mothers side is the best to look at for hair information and my grandpa has decent amount of hair for someone that is 67(no uncles) so does my fathers side. I have always had a sensitive scalp and skin (needed to use non allergenic soaps and laundry detergent my whole life) and like an idiot after getting my haircut I purchased http://menshair.about.com/od/mensproductguide/gr/bedhead.htm (both the shampoo and conditioner) I thoroughly massaged this into my head and let it sit for a few minutes for about 2-3days in a row, I had an extremely irritated scalp- not really irritated but itchy and when i would wear a hat or hood etc it would be uncomfortable (crown area mostly) for about a day or 2, the irritation has since subsided however i still have a very slight itchiness when i touch the crown area or throw on a hat. I have also noticed some minor hair loss on my scalp area. I know that a reaction to shampoo can cause this so my question is: Will it return? It's very minor however I happen to have a double crown so it tends to stand out a little more now.

Additional info: when I run my hand through my hair in the shower i usually only lose about 4ish hairs and then none when i repeat this. I read that only about 3% of allergic reactions can cause scarring which will be permanent hair loss. I guess the best way to tell is to wait a month (i have extremely fast growing hair) however I figured I'd throw up a question here and see what comes back

    THANK YOU!

Stay away from all the normal shampoos, they all(98%)contain SODIUM LAUREL/LAURETH SULFATES,you can go grab your stuff now and check the lable.SLS is used in GARAGE/FLOOR CLEANERS/ECT...many of the chemicals are listed by the FDA and the MSDS as CARCINIGENS!

Go to the drugstore and buy LOREAL EVERPURE,it is a new line by Loreal that is 100% SULFATE FREE.I'm sure in the next few years, all the companies will be coming out with SLS FREE products,as we are just now finding out just how BAD they are for some people. And the demand for SF will only rise as people get educated about it:-)

Start taking vitamins too, hair grows from the INSIDE of the body, not the ends...so unless you eat PERFECTLY,your diet is lacking and you need to supplemnet, get OMEGA COMPLEX,BIOTIN(2,500 mgs a day),and a B-COMPLEX,and a MULT VITAMIN.

If you don't improve...get a doctors appt, get a check up and your thyroid tested,a bad one can cause hair loss. Will hair loss due to Shampoo reaction grow back?
Your hair is doomed. I'm a DR. at UC DAVIS and I see this happening on a regular basis. You should look around online and find if their are any pending law suits that you can be apart of. From now on I recommend that you only use non antibacterial dish washing soap for shampoo. It is safe and will minimize any further hair loss.
ok This happens to lot of men and women but most likely your hair will grow back because it is a minor chemical reaction. Stop using this product and wait a while if it still doesnt grow back in a about a month or two go to your local doctor to make sure what is actaully going on

anyway hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

But when I used it for the first time today, my hair fell out in chunks, I was so scared, I didn't know if this was normal or not but I can't find any reviews on this product... Please Help! I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow but would like some answers and advice today. ThanksHas anyone use Eko Garlic shampoo for excessive hair loss? I can't find many reviews on this product.?
it is not normal! maybe you have some allergic reaction or something like that on this shampoo...??

anyway as we know hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections, hormonal problems, to mention a few.

year ago I suffered very much from dandruff and hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.

the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also I used herbal treatment - Provillus (do not use Rogaine - it will not work!)

It is a good products that helps prevent hair loss and contains Biotin and the clinically tested ingredients approved by the FDA to help re-grow your hair.! I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=221781

It enhances hair growth by blocking DHT (Dihydrotestostrone) - a major cause of hair loss!

Also Informative video about Provillus - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ydvCHhbR

    good luck!

Hi there i also suffered from hair loss it started when i was 26 years of age and may i say i tried everything and not many products worked i also spent lots of money until i finally found provillus it worked wonders and theres also a free trial so u,ve nothing to lose give it a try

They also have it for women.

    Good luck
I don't know about this actual shampoo, but I do know that garlic really does help grow back hair. My old roommate randomly got 3 bald spots in the back of his head...we don't know why. He just heard that garlic would help. So he actually took a garlic clove, cut it in half, and then rubbed the cut end on the spots at least once a day... It grew his hair back! I think it took maybe about 2 months. It was the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

Im sorry I cant help with the shampoo, but the concept of the garlic does work! Good luck!

  • What could cause an extreme loss of hair in a 15 year old girl? Could it be from her shampoo?

    She is 15...

    it is urgent...

when she runs her fingers through her hair she gets like half a dozen hairs that come off. What could cause an extreme loss of hair in a 15 year old girl? Could it be from her shampoo?
it sounds as if she has telogen effluvium, for which there may be several causes (not shampoo, though). Or, she may have the generalized form of alopecia areata. It is best if she goes to her dermatologist, as she'll need a work up to see if there's a medical cause for it, that can be treated. What could cause an extreme loss of hair in a 15 year old girl? Could it be from her shampoo?
cancer doesnt cause hairloss, treatment for cancer does.

Six hairs doesnt seem that extreme. It is normal to lose 20-50 strands of hair per day. If you are losing over 100 strands per day THEN it indicates hair loss and you should see a doctor. If she really was losing a lot of hair I would say check to make sure shes getting a proper diet and right amount of vitamins.

I just ran my fingers once through the left side of my head, and five hairs came off. Six on the other side.

You have over 100,000 hair folicles on your head. If you only lost a dozen hairs a day it would take you 22 years to go bald if you completely stopped growing hair.

    Dont panic!
No, I doubt it's the shampoo. It's normal to shed some hair. I read that somewhere. But if she's losing what she thinks is a lot, maybe it could be a nutritional deficiency or something. Maybe she should try taking vitamins to see if that helps.
i had a friend that lost hair and problems with your thyroid can make you lose hair if they are over or under active.

my friend also lost alot of weight through this too but can be the opposite and you can gain weight
Causes could be lack of proper diet, lack of vitamins from a proper diet or some sort of illness.

    It's not the shampoo.

    See a doctor. Soon.

Shampoo and Conditioner cause hair loss?

I was using Panteene Brunette Expressions for about 8 months, for the last 3 months my hair was falling out.I thougt it might be a mineral/Vitamin problem,

I then changed my shampoo and conditioner ,within the first wash i noticed a drop in the amout of hair that was coming out when i was washng my hair.

Since using this shampoo and Conditoner my hair has stopped falling out.

Has anyone else expericned this?Is it somthing that happens after a prolonged use of a particular shampoo/ConditionerShampoo and Conditioner cause hair loss?
Try aussie Moisture Maniac, and try go comb from the ends of your hair to your scalp (Gently)Shampoo and Conditioner cause hair loss?
pantene always make some of your hair come out but it is usually not a big problem. in the shower i use pantene conditioner and some of my hair comes out on my hands. but it just because it is detangling it.
Panteene is just a bad product for the price. I used it and my hair was crap, I though I had crappy hair for the longest time. Now I use Herbal essences, and its sooo much better.
Those type of products are for professionals who know how to use them correctly... No offense.

But if I may recommend something else...

The shampoo and conditioner I use is called DooGro...

    It's for everyone and anyone.

I use it all the time and my hair grows about an inch longer in just 4 days!

    It actually works...

    Plus, it smells so good...

    ahh...

I have hair loss problem...what shampoo will u sugest me..my hair dry without shine..i want my hair strainght.

to be honest...everything will make ur hair fall out ..the only product that doesn't i sbaby shampoo..try the 1 that has detangler in it...it worked for me.I have hair loss problem...what shampoo will u sugest me..my hair dry without shine..i want my hair strainght.
I have hair loss also and I am afraid to tell you it is not your shampoo. It is caused by stress. If you have stress in your life, enough to cause hair loss. You need an outlet for that stress and may need Psychiatric help.I have hair loss problem...what shampoo will u sugest me..my hair dry without shine..i want my hair strainght.
I suggest you use Dove Shampoo and conditioner. Dove is great... xD

It makes your hair really soft but you hafta leave the conditioner on for like 2 minutes. And it's easier to comb too. And by the way, your question is in the ';Diet %26amp; Fitness '; catigory when it should be in the Hair catagory. =]

    Hair loss due to shampoo?

    Hi

Has anyone here ever suffered hair loss from childrens lotions to remove hair liceHair loss due to shampoo?
Those medications have very harsh chemicals and can damage hair - especially if that hair is already processed from perms or highlighting or has a lot of heat damage from the straight iron. The lice shampoo can cause hair that is already in a fragile state to break and fall out more easily.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you! :-(

At least with hair, it can always grow back. It will just take time.

Hang in there! :-)Hair loss due to shampoo?
It is probably because the shampoo didn't suit your hair type.
if u want to remove lice u need to by the real products ...

What's a good shampoo for making your hair grow and stop loss?

Well my hair is really cute n' curly but it's falling drastically...i'm not rough really I'm not. Just a simple brush through with my hand makes it fall (2 to 5 hairs). My hair is pretty long with alot of volume so no one really notices but I do. Also I need something that's not pricey. No, no oil. I never get any dandruff 'cuz I wash my hair every alternate day. What's a good shampoo for making your hair grow and stop loss?
Well, people loose 75 to 100 strans of Hair a day. As far as shampoo, if you are looking for something cheap Pantene is good. My favorite is Matrix Smoothing shampoo %26amp; conditioner. I also have curly hair. Remeber always use a wide tooth comb. What's a good shampoo for making your hair grow and stop loss?
No shampoo can stop this. Check the water you are using(It may be HARD WATER).

Every time just be cool and just laugh, it will work.
    pantene
I think that a good shampoo would be ';garnier fructis'; long and strong hair car line.
well you have to know the problem!

i know for sure that iron and vitamin B complex and vitamin E stopes hair loss wait 2 weeks to be amazed, second thing if your hair is oily and itchy thats scalp iritation do to stress so use any good shampo for oily hair like St.eves citrus wash daily and use a weekly dandruf wash to kill germs, but if you have dry hair drink lots of water and stay away of heat use scalp cooling treatment and soft shampos like panteen.
    Aussie Moist Shampoo.

    Aussie Moist Conditioner.

Aussie Deeep Conditioning treatment twice a week.
    rejoice.
wel i wud suggest use pantene ,thts d best i hav knwn and i wud also suggest tht u apply oil like atleast four hrs b4 every wash, tht sure helps
anything but Pantene. it just coats your hair in crap that doesn't come off. I would suggest getting something from a nice Salon like Matrix Biolage or something from the Biosilk line. There are probably some really good products that are specifically for curly hair too. just ask a stylist to help you when you go in. you'll have to spend a bit more money, but it'll be worth it when you hair starts looking great!
Horse Shampoo Tail and Mane, it's not expensive and it works.
First of all, don't panic. Losing up to 100 hairs a day is normal, as old hairs fall and new ones replace them. If you lose more, I suggest you ask for your doctor's advice, because no external use product can halt hair loss. Hair gets healthy or sick from the inside, and loss of it can mean you lack certain vitamins or minerals.
there is no such thing accept the new things
I had weight loss surgery and therefore I lost some hair after this operation.I asked my hairdresser what to use and she told me they had this fabulous shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair,or in our cases hair that is falling out.The shampoo is called Nioxion. It works great. They have a shampoo, then they have a condition that you can use everytime or every other time. After shampooing, you put the conditioner on,and then comb out your hair while the conditioner is in.Wait 5minuites while it does it jobs, then rinse. This shampoo isn't cheap, but it usually comes in a kit,and it is pronounced

NI-OX-EN.It is worth the $ spent.I even put it on my thinning eyebrows and it helped itt.Hope this info helps.
They have some different products out there now. A shampoo that I use is called Luna, but I buy it abroad. It is fantastic. Locally, there is a shampoo made by Nutricap that some people have said works. Nutricap also has vitamin caplets you can take and tonic that you put on your scalp.

Can you guys help me to which Shampoo is better for hair loss and oil hair? please help?

Hair loss comes mostly from within. So make sure you ear eating healthy. Take a mulitple vitamin approved by your Doctor.

Avacado's and Gelatin are great in aiding helping make your hair healthier and fuller. Your nails will grow too. Stay away from fried greasy foods. Eat loads of vegetables, fruits, low fat milk products such as yogurt and milk/or soy milk.

What we put in must come out!

Make sure you are scrubbing and stimulating your scalp when you shampoo. Take your time and really get the nerves and blood moving while massaging. Just like we need to massage our gums when brushing our teeth, it's the same principle.

You need to use 2 different kinds of shampoo. Both need to have a healthy PH balance and you will not find it anywhere except for a salon. Pay a little more for healthier hair. Ask them what they suggest but make sure they are not just trying to make a sale. Research the product online first.

Switch products regularly each week from a cleansing shampoo to volumizing shampoo. Only condition the bottom ends of hair not near the scalp. This will help with the oilyness.

Good Luck. Can you guys help me to which Shampoo is better for hair loss and oil hair? please help?

there is nourkrin, a make which sells shampoo, conditioner and tablets at reasonable prices. also there is viviscal, a slightly more expensive brand of tablets and haircare treatments. in england a box of viviscal is about 拢40 in superdrug (where i used to work) and nourkrin was about 拢7. you can get these on the internet aswell on superdrug's website or other websites that sell haircare products.Hair loss: any new effective shampoo/treatment?

Here a few simple home remedies which can be tried at home to control hair fall.

1.Rinse your hair with a mix of apple cider vinegar and sage tea this helps hair grow..

    2. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair.

    3. Massage with olive oil before going to bed at night and next morning, wash off the hair gently..

    4. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea.Massage well and shampoo.

    5. Beat two eggs, and add two tablespoons of water to it. Rinse hair and pour the egg mixture over the hair.Massage the scalp well and leave for 10 minutes. Then wash it.
i dont personally know of any shampoos that could treat hair falling out....

but considering this is after surgery, your hair falling out might be due to lack of vitamins and protein. mostly protein.

stress could very likely be the reason.. but protein consumption is very important in hair/nail growth and helps keep hair in its root.

im not diagnosing you, just wanted to let you know, more protein could possibly help?

    good luck! :]]
hey there :) its not nessasarily, hair products that help, its the ingredience,

Hair loss shampoos i have noticed (the quality brands) have jojoba oil %26amp; tsubaki oil in this.

maybe this would be a good suggestion to buy jojoba oil. or tsubaki (camellia oil) this rebuilds the hair, and stimulates the scalp.

they are both natural and extremely good for hair health

It all depends on which shampoo u use because some of them may have harmful chemicals which may solve some problems but cause others...Is it true that this shampoo prevents hair loss?
There are many shampoos on the market that are advertised as hair loss shampoo. If you notice that you hair is thinning, you may wonder if this is what you should be using to help stop any further hairloss. The advertisements that accompany most hair loss shampoo products cite clinical experiments to prove that they do actually work. However, as the old saying goes “the proof of the pudding is in the eating”, you really have to try them yourself to see if they do work.

Some of the shampoos, advertised as hair loss shampoos and hair growth shampoos, claim to contain active ingredients that block DHT production. This is a hormone that the body produces that results in follicles ceasing to produce new hair growth. Hair rejuvenation formulae in these hair loss shampoo are expected to stop any hair loss within a week. You can order these products online and receive a three-month supply. Many people claim that they do actually work, but you do have to keep using them. Once you stop, the hairloss starts again.

However you can prevent hair loss without breaking the bank or risking your health to such things like side effects. Here are three of the most important things to keep in mind if you want to maintain hair growth as well as regrow more hair.

Step 1: Learn to rely on natural substitutes. Most people will totally ignore and even laugh at the thought of using things like home remedies to control their alopecia. This is the kind of thinking that will only cause you to miss out.

There are tons of natural substitutes that are safe, yet highly effective in stopping hair fall. One such example is the herbs green tea and saw palmetto. Both work to block a hair loss causing hormone called DHT which binds to your follicle cells.

Step 2: Don't shampoo your hair too much. Too much shampooing of the hair will only dry your hair out and rob it of the natural oils that it needs in order to grow. This is a very important measure to take when seeking to prevent hair loss.

3 Steps To Keep Your Hair

Step 3: Our third and final step in fighting baldness is to ensure your scalp is getting the right circulation that it needs. Keep in mind that more blood equals more nutrients to the follicles. Your hair follicles love nutrients and uses them as a necessary means to grow.

One type of hair growth shampoo, claims that it will actually help your hair start to grow back by as much as 45%. This hair loss shampoo is rich in amino acids and botanicals, which are important for a healthy scalp. It is good for any type of hair, whether it is thinning or perfectly healthy. It is ideal for helping hair that has been damaged by hair dyes and curling irons by restoring it to its original shine.

One thing to remember about all types of hair loss shampoo and hair growth shampoo is that taking care of your hair is as important as taking care of your health. Often the two go hand in hand. You should wash your hair and try to avoid chemicals that could damage your hair and scalp. Regular massage of the scalp will also help to keep the hair follicles and the pores of the scalp free from clogging. Proper nutrition and getting right amount of sleep are also factors involved in hair loss. If you start to experience hairloss while taking medication or while you are under severe stress, the hair loss will more than likely reverse itself when the conditions are resolved. While most people grumble about having a bad hair day, people with thinning hair or bald spots wish they could say the same thing. Hair loss shampoos may help.

Hair loss shampoo, certainly worth a try to see if it helps you, but it certainly doesn’t work for everybody.

so try this...regular trims are a must, about every 7-9 weeks.(if your hair is really healthy then up the trims to about every 12 weeks, a trim is just a snip off the ends) if its been awhile since you have had a trim then inches may be called for to get to healthy hair. i use vitamin e on fresh washed hair.(its a vitamin that can be purchased where you buy vitamins, cut open capsule, squeeze into hand, rub hands together and apply to hair) dont message into scalp. if you get too much then just rewash it. hair will feel slightly sticky until dry then it will be nice and soft. it tames the frizzies, deep conditions and makes hair grow about three in a month. it takes about a month for the growth part of the e to kick in. the other benefits are instant. dont brush your hair but maybe once a week to message the scalp, i use a wide tooth comb at other times. brushing breaks off hair. i just started biotin vitamins going on three months ago this sat and notice and big growth spurt from that. biotin is cheap and also promotes hair regrowth and growth. i also have the biotin shampoo that i got from a vitamin store online. five bucks for a big bottle and a big bottle of E is about 8 bucks. the biotin is about 3 bucks. i now take my fingers and message my scalp about five times a week, along with the brushing thats a good way to do it without damaging your hair. apply two or three capsules of e to dry hair and message into scalp and hair really well, put damp towel in microwave for 1 min to get hot, then quickly wrap head, a dry towel can be placed over that to help hold in the heat, leave on for 15 min, makes an excellent hot oil treatment. good luck
Shampoo does not prevent hair loss, it only makes your hair appear thicker by puffing it up. Actually the count of hair is the same as without using shampoo. Shampoo only cleans your hair scalp and adds some moisture to your hair. The best shampoo so far unbeatable is SEBAMED everyday shampoo, made in Germany. Search for it in Google.

A certain amount of hair fall is normal. Healthy hair is a function of your diet and nutrition, excercise, and your overall mood and health.

Could hair loss be an effect of an allergy to a certain dye/shampoo?

For the first time I've been using Redken shampoo and hair color. Since that, my hair has been falling out, or shedding pretty significantly.

I saw another question where the asker said that she heard it could possibly be anemia.

This could be the case, but the only problem is that this didn't start happening until after I began using the redken products.

Does anyone else know why this may be happening?

So far, my plan consists of taking iron, Biotin, and discontinuing the use of my redken shampoo. Does this sound like the right course of action?Could hair loss be an effect of an allergy to a certain dye/shampoo?
i used redken shampoo to and it made my hair reallly brittle and i had some amount of hair loss but not significantly i stopped using it though and now my hair is greatCould hair loss be an effect of an allergy to a certain dye/shampoo?
yes but u should see ur doctor
I guess it could be an allergy. You could switch product to see if it stops. However, it could be something more serious (medically speaking). Before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism I was shedding very significantly and it turned out that this was one of the symptoms of untreated hypothyroidism. Good luck.
That's a good way to start. Be ure to get it checked by a profsional though, just to be sure. Good luck!
discontinuing the use of the shampoo should do it. I wish I could blame it on that.
Herbal essences makes my hair and eyelashes fall out in clumps.
actually it's alopecia that makes your hair fall out...not anemia...you could be allergic to certain products...see an allergist to get tested.
I think the shampoo is your problem. I knew someone who experienced the same thing with Clairol hair dye. Seeing your doctor is a good though. Good luck.

take biotin vitamins that really helps, and also make a aloe vera shampoo, buy a aloe vera plant and cut the green peel of the plant off. and inside the plant you will see a clear gel and that you will use for your hair, the aloe vera gel. put the aloe vera gel in the blender and blend it all together after that you can pour some shampoo into the mixture i personally use the Suave Aloe Vera %26amp; Water Lily shampoo and after i mix it all up i pour the shampoo mixed with the aloe vera back into the shampoo container. I've been using this every time i wash my hair and it really improving my hair growth a lot.

WAYS TO USE ALOE VERA TO PREVENT HAIR GROWTH:

Use aloe vera gel to treat the areas of the scalp that are going bald. Aloe vera contains an enzyme that helps promote new hair growth for some people. The gel can be applied directly to the scalp, as aloe vera typically has no side effects

Make an aloe vera shampoo. When combined with wheat germ oil and coconut milk, aloe vera gel makes a shampoo to promote hair growth. Use the shampoo as often as you wash your hair.

Use aloe vera lotion alone or in addition to aloe vera gel. When not used as a shampoo, aloe vera lotion works to revitalize the hair and the scalp to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. Aloe vera lotion is most readily available online.

Find a shampoo that does not contain chemicals. These chemicals will damage the scalp and inhibit hair growth while contributing to loss. Hair loss is usually linked to internal conditions. Try basic vitamins, minerals and EFAs from a pure plant source. Oat grass is great for hair loss.
josh please according to me use the best method apply the mixture of egg+yogurt+honey this will stop hair loss and it will make ur hair strong, shiny

Is Head & Shoulders shampoo causing hair loss?

I started using Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoo last year. After a few months on H%26amp;S I noticed a small bald spot I had on the top of my head towards the back seemed a little larger, but dismissed it for just being the way the hair was pushed. However, lately when I switched to a new Head %26amp; Shoulders formula, my hair started rapidly thinning to the point where theres a line of almost baldness with the hair going in either direction the way it grows on the crown of my head.

After some research online, it seems like others are reporting this issue as well including teenagers and its all occurring on the same part of the head.

I'm 21 with thick hair and absolutely no Male Pattern Baldness in the family. The fact that this is happening so rapidly has left me wondering whether or not it actually is MPB or if it's a reaction to the shampoo that only a small number of people get.

Information on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Is Head %26amp; Shoulders shampoo causing hair loss?
The shampoo could create a problem but there are also many other possibilities. There are many other reasons you can lose your hair. Some of the causes of baldness may represent serious health problems. That's why it's important to talk about hair loss with a physician.

Poor nutrition can lead to hair loss as can fad diets and eating disorders such as anorexia. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease that causes hair loss. Other reasons can include thyroid problems and a form of lupus.

The medical opinion concerning the role of emotional stress in balding is mixed.

Anyway take a look at this site for more info

I use head and shoulder for years and I have been losing a lot of year. I don't have any health problems or whatever.

I've used it all my life and had no hair loss. Maybe it does. You should write a book about it and get rich! I'd buy it!
Well, I'm 17 with a short military butch cut; but not too short since it's winter (I'd say about an inch long from the scalp; and I comb it down) and I use head and shoulders and have been for 2+ years. I've never had the problem you're describing; but a hair stylist told me once a little trick to avoid Dandruff plus get easy hair to work with that's soft; that's what I've been doing for over a year.

I shower every morning, but on Monday mornings I always use Head and Shoulders. The rest of the week I use regular shampoo. It keeps the dandruff away and my hair is perfect. One time I got a few flakes on the back of my jacket so I used Head %26amp; Shoulders on Tuesday and Wednsday and it went right away.

    I highly suggest this method.

Plus; head and shoulders is a bit pricey, so it cuts down on the costs a bit. ;)
I would simply switch products. if a trend is happening amongst other people in your age there must be a problem then...

check the bottle for a 1800 number, call them a nag. then throw away the bottle right away lol.

you may get some free stuff out of it. you never know.

I know that you think there is nothing you can do about your hair loss and you are probably wondering what you are doing wrong to cause this hair loss.聽 Sometimes it is just hereditary and sometimes there are other underlying causes.聽 Once you talk to your doctor and rule out any underlying medical causes you can check into taking supplements,聽 over the counter or natural remedies to help prevent further hair loss and even re-grow your hair.聽 So don't worry help is not far away!聽 I know how you feel - I panicked when I started to lose my hair and I didn't know who to talk to or what to do so I went straight to the web just like you did when you came to Yahoo answers and I found a website that gave me hope and solutions.聽 I will give you that website so you can rest assured that your hair loss does not have to be permanent.聽 www.stophairlossmenopause.com聽 聽My sincerest best wishes to you!Whats the best shampoo or condition to help your hair grow and prevent hair loss?
After all the experiments that i have done to my hair[dry curly one] and reading so many forums related to hair loss and growth, i guess you cant point one particular brand as a good one. Because not every shampoo or conditioner is working for everyone...

Personally i feel body shop conditioner is good for my hair. Shampoo...few of my friends said organics is good.but i have not given a try yet.
I have very long straight hair. I use biotin 1000 mg, coconut oil %26amp; Aveeno's new shampoo %26amp; conditioner. I leave the coconut oil in overnight then wash out in the morning. If that does not work for then leave in for ONE hour then wash it out. Do this at least once a week. I do it twice sometimes if I have a time three times. I have been using Aveen for the last month %26amp; a half %26amp; just love it. If you use the conditioner do not use the oil the same night or that morning for it will weigh your hair down. I hope this helps. Good luck %26amp; God bless you. :)
Well for one try using Mane N' Tail Horse Shampoo. I use it all the time and it makes your hair grow faster. You can find it at walmart in the pet section. also you should drink plenty of water to condition your hair and when shampooing and conditioning you should use cold or

luke warm water on your hair so it won't damage it. Even hot water hurts your hair.

Unfortunately, there are no homemade remedies. Try Rogaine and, if you're a guy, Propecia. Nioxin is the best shampoo for fine or thinning hair. You have to get it at a salon. Don't waste your time trying bogus things from your refrigerator to stop your hair loss. The sooner you get started on Rogaine and Nioxin, the sooner your hair loss will slow down or stop.

    T-Gel shampoo causing hair loss??

I started using T-Gel medicated shampoo about 2 years ago as my exclusive daily shampoo. At the time I didn't exactly have long luxurious locks of hair but it has thinned dramatically since then. My dad didn't thin out until about 35, I'm only 25.

Just curious if any other guys have noticed thinning hair since using T-Gel.T-Gel shampoo causing hair loss??
most of hair lose is genetic, but there are thing you can do to slow the process. Take a vitamin that works, and get good shampoo. It sounds stupid but almost all the shampoo on the market contain tons of chemicals most have the same chemical compound as engin degreeser. DHT as you get older will cause your hair to fall out faster. Saw Palmetto fights DHT that will cause hair loss to slow or stop.

The website below sells shampoo and conditioner with Saw Palmetto, called Botanical Vitamin shampoo and conditioner. If you are using t-gel you probably have scapl issues, this shampoo also helps with that, more than any other shampoo that I have used before.

This is the site below to check out the shampoo and conditioner under Body Care Essentials

hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

year ago my wife suffered from hair loss too and she started trying everything you can imagine to stop her hair loss. the things that really worked for her was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also used herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for her!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

There are several things you can do to stop hair loss.

Take hair supplements, there are many that contain all the vitamins and proteins your hair needs. many people miss out on vital vitamins and proteins in their diets and their hair suffers.

Use a good shampoo. Ideally it should have a pH close to that of your hair. That is pH between between 5.5 and nine. Avoid shampoos with plenty of lathering agents. thse can damage your hair and your scalp. Ideally you need a shampoo specifically for hair loss.( Personally I used nisim shampoo)

Eat a healthy diet. Your Hair is mainly protein and eating a diet with plenty of vitaminsand proteins will not only make your hair look healthy but will help you keep it.

avoid stress, this is a major cause of hair loss and avoiding it will help you keep your hair. How to stop hair loss? i really need help to know which shampoo is the best.?
No shampoo can help hair loss. 99% of the time when women think that their hair is falling out it is actually breaking off. If most of the hairs have a white bulb on the end it has fallen out, if not it is breaking off. Blow drying hair removed 90% of it's moisture, leaving it dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. Get a salon quality conditioner and wash your hair in cool water. If you straighten or curl, use a thermal styling spray.
Instead of shampoo you can try this. Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar (add around 2 tbsp in a mug of water and use it as a last rinse) this prevents hair loss. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

I personally prefer Propecia. Propecia is a prescription only tablet that increases hair growth on the scalp and prevents further hair loss in men. Men with mild to moderate, but not complete hair loss, can benefit from using Propecia. Propecia is for use in men only. The active ingredient in Propecia Tablets is finasteride. In the scalp, Propecia specifically lowers the levels of DHT, a major cause of male pattern hair loss. In this way, Propecia helps to reverse the balding process, leading to an increased hair growth and prevention of further hair loss.

Will prolong use of same kind and brand of shampoo lead to hair loss?

Prolonged use of the same kind and brand of shampoo will not lead to hair loss.

Hair loss may be due to stress, illness, a shock, or drugs. Will prolong use of same kind and brand of shampoo lead to hair loss?
Not that I am aware of. what my stylist told me was that using the same shampoo regularly can sometimes lead to build up.

So I switch off once a week to another high quality shampoo. Will prolong use of same kind and brand of shampoo lead to hair loss?
I used Head and Shoulders for years, and now I am bald. But I think genes have more to do with it than brands.
    I don't think so.

I NEVER use shampoo, And I wash my hair everyday with plain soap, and at my age I haven't noticed a visible loss of hair.
No. If you were going to have a reaction to a shampoo it would happen right away. If you are losing hair, there is another reason.
One of the most worrying aspects of hair loss treatment is the tendency of so many people to seek solutions without first determining what has caused their loss in the first place.

At best, sufferers may waste money on inappropriate 'wonder cures' or even legitimate treatments that unfortunately are not suitable for their particular needs. At worst, some people may be risking their health by self-prescribing powerful pharmaceutical drugs. I don't have a problem with hair loss sufferers saving money by purchasing cheap generic drugs on the internet, but I feel strongly that they should at least seek confirmation from their physician that a given drug matches their individual needs.

Before examining the most common causes of premature hair loss we need to understand that some shedding of hair is perfectly normal. Hairs grow from follicles that are tiny organs in the skin designed to grow a single hair that follows this repetitive cycle:

    1. Lengthy growth period (Anagen Stage) - this phase usually lasts between two and seven years with an average growth rate of six inches (15cm) each year.

    2. Short transition period (Catagen Stage) - this period of transition lasts for roughly two to four weeks. During this phase the hair shaft becomes detached and moves upwards within the follicle.

    3. Resting period (Telogen Stage) - this phase lasts about three months allowing the hair to detach itself prior to falling out.

At this point a new hair begins to grow thus repeating the normal cycle of hair growth. Unfortunately a number of factors can interfere with the natural hair growth process leading to forms of hair thinning or premature baldness.

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common cause of hair loss, probably accounting for as much as 95% of pattern hair loss for both men and women. It is usually associated with aging and develops in predictable stages over varying periods of time. Each follicle follows a genetically programmed growth cycle with some follicles coded to remain active for a shorter time than others. This results in the development of the hereditary baldness patterns that are so familiar to us all.

For this type of baldness to occur, the following factors must be present:

    1. A genetic predisposition for hair loss to occur (as explained above).

    2. The presence of male hormones.

    3. Aging - in other words, enough time for the first two factors to exert an influence.

All men and women produce male hormones such as testosterone and DHT. These have a useful role to play in both sexes but obviously occur in widely differing concentrations. It is the higher levels of androgens found in males that explains why this form of hair loss affects men more than women.

In brief, these hormones affect the hair growth cycle as follows:

    1. High levels of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme occur in some cells of the hair follicle and sebaceous glands.

    2. 5-alpha-reductase converts testosterone into DHT.

    3. DHT causes the terminal hairs to miniaturize.

    4. This leaves short, soft, fluffy vellus hairs that provide inadequate scalp coverage.

    5. The growth phases gradually become shorter until these hairs are lost for good.

Alopecia areata is thought to be an immune system disorder that causes follicles to stop producing hairs in patches on the head. In severe cases it can advance to the stage where all hair on the head is lost (alopecia totalis) or even a complete absence of body hair results (alopecia universalis).

In most cases the hair will reappear on its own but until then, the condition can be very distressing to sufferers particularly as its cause can be difficult to determine. If you feel you may be suffering from this form of hair loss, seek the advice of your physician who will carry out a physical examination and conduct blood tests to help determine the cause.

Telogen effluvium is characterized by a general thinning or shedding of hair over a period of months and is most commonly found in people who have recently experienced trauma. Common causes include childbirth, major surgery, severe illness, psychological stress and chemotherapy. The good news is that the abnormal growth behavior associated with telogen effluvium is temporary and reversible.

There are numerous other less common hair loss causes that need to be discounted before a course of treatment is chosen. Traction alopecia is the loss of hair from constant pulling, usually as the result of hair styling. Broken hairs can result in thinning, often caused by excessive styling or exposure to chemicals and sun. Finally, severe illnesses or nutritional deficiencies can cause side effects that may include degrees of hair loss.

I hope this brief article has gotten across the message that diagnosing the real causes of hair loss is not always a straightforward process. Once you and your physician have identified a cause, then you can work towards restoring your hair to its former glory. And the good news is, most forms of hair loss can be treated successfully. The next article in this series will look at some of the best hair loss treatments currently available.
some shampoo's yes but it's more like your hair breaks off, it's just best to switch occasionally. some shampoo's are harse on your hair more so than others. believe it or not baby shampoo is the worse thing to use on adult hair. and if you get build up of srays gel and other products, just take baking soda and water comb it through your hair and it'll strip off the build up. have a nice day鈾?
    Not that I know of.
No using the same shampoo will not cause your hair to fall out. It is good to use a claryifing shampoo once a week however to rince the soap residue off of your hair that most shampoos leave. A good sub. for a claryifing shampoo is also chamemille tea if you have that around the house.
it won't lead to hair loss, but it can lead to build up so it's a good idea to change your shampoo periodically or it can start looking really greasy however much you wash it. head-and-shoulders is good.

Which shampoo and conditioner are touted as good for stopping hair loss?

I couldn't tell you the names of shampoos and conditioners, but I was hoping that this article would be a helpful place for you to start.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/MEDLINEPLUS/ency/Which shampoo and conditioner are touted as good for stopping hair loss?
I've had hair loss issues before in the past and what I noticed is that as long as I used shampoos that were sulfate free (no sodium laureth sulfate, or sodium lauryl ether sulfate ingredients) I didn't have as much hair clogging the drain everytime I showered.

I use organic and natural hair products that I buy from places like Whole Foods or other health stores. Even the supermarket Stop and Shop carries organic and natural products.

BTW, Do NOT open the link in the previous message. The guy is total spammer and I've seen the same post in multiple other q/a's.Which shampoo and conditioner are touted as good for stopping hair loss?
The shampoo and the conditioner are not causing the hair to fall out.

You know that we all lose hair every day... as much as 80 to 100 hairs a day. That may seem like a lot, but it would take a little over 7 years to lose all your hair.

Your hair falls out and in a couple months, a new hair grows in that same follicle. It grows very fast, then slows down, and in about 4 to 7 years, it stops and falls out. Then it starts all over again. You cannot change this. As long as you are healthy, you are doing all that you can. NOTHING you put on the outside can affect what goes on inside your skin. The only thing that grows is someone's bank account. Remember that.
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm

after a while mane and tail will actually start to build up and your hair will not feel very good, i would recomend a shampoo like Nioxin, you can find it at your local beauty supply store.

    ';Cheap'; shampoo causes hair loss?

I once had a stylist tell me that ';cheap'; shampoos like Vo5 and suave contain animal intestine or other products that do make your hair soft, but also clog the folicle causin the hair to fall out. Is it true? or did she just want me to buy the salon stuff?';Cheap'; shampoo causes hair loss?
It's hard to say. But did you know that people that live with oily hair are the least likely to have hair loss. I do realize that guys are way more prone to lose hair than girls when they get older, but still, that's why conditioner is out there and they keep adding more and more stuff to it, like Vitamin E and Aloe, antioxidants, protein, anything that will repair hair, keep the shine, and I don't know what. I shampoo like once a week cuz I have really dry hair. I never condition my hair cuz I use a hair grease that is like half way between pomade and petroleum jelly. It's messy stuff, but it makes my bangs stand up in the front like I like my haircut and keeps my hair shiny and by the end of the day, the greasiness is gone and my hair is soft as angel hair.';Cheap'; shampoo causes hair loss?
lol!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only thing I can think that will make your hair fall out %26amp; is a hair product would be perm products. Other than that, cheap shampoo will just make your hair more kinky %26amp; hard to comb, blow dry, press, etc etc...I've used suave, I'm african american, you can only imagine what that cheap stuff did to my hair lol! I got tired of combing it out...geeze...
well she might even be trying to sell her own products... and as for cheap shampoos yes they can lead to hair loss because of the chemical imbalance...well just see to it that whatever product the salon offers it is certified safe by some recognized organization...
It could. But it mostly Suave where I've heard things about. I've heard that it also makes a certain hormone trigger to make hair less appealing and seem more older.

Perhaps she could be lying to you just so you'd buy her stuff so she'd make some moola. Try using stuff a little but priceyer like in the 5 dollar range. Try stuff yourself:)
Some of the cheaper stuff is harsh on your hair but she was trying to sell product through fear.
I don't think it would make your hair fal out. she is trying to sell products. But, I would not use cheap shampoo like that either. Something in the middle is fine.

Hair loss is a dreadful experience that both men and women may face at one point in their lives. If you feel that your hair loss is bad, you have to look into the cause of your hair loss problem.

Only in understanding the cause of your hair loss problem can you find the solution. There are shampoos that may reverse hair loss but you have to seek the help of a hair care professional before you use them.

You will be spending money in solutions that may not solve the root of the problem if you do not see your hair care professional first.
I changed what I was eating ~ avoiding soy products and chemicals in my food (artificial flavors, artificial colors, preservatives). I also use Aubrey Organics shampoo, but for dry hair not hair loss b/c mine is dry.

I suggest looking at everything that goes into your system and eliminate all the chemicals and soy. It worked for me.
yea organic shampoos are healthier for your scalp. n no herbal shampoos r not gunna stop hair loss. try using natural organic shampoos. n alternating them twice as u use them. first wash with selected shampoo under warm water. then repeat under cold water.should help a lil.But there are pills out there that actually helped me a lil. maybe not grow a lot back for me, but pretty much stopped the hair loss for sure. theres a bunch of products out there But if you go with the pills which are basically minerals n good stuff. It might take awhile to see results. Typically I hear 2-6 months Everybody is different though. I 've tried HVT hair loss pills and got lots of peach fuzz hair. Still hair but not much dark. I used provillus for a few months. N it felt like it stopped it from gettin worse, but thats it The next 1 i'm trying is gunna b Follinex. 25 bucks with shipping. Or if u want try Formula 22 Same price. Hopefully some of this helps. I know what it's like. Im 25 n wanna stop it before It gets bad n theres no return. haha.

My dad had been suffering from hair loss and only recently he started to see a huge difference with his hair (lots of fine hair growing out especially at the temple area) after trying out the various natural techniques taught to grow hair for 1 week at this website http://www.regrowmyhair.info

I must say its a very informative, effective and easy to follow step-by-step guide. I highly recommend it to anyone who is suffering from hair loss.

    Hope it helps ! =)
